Did anyone else find the NHS stop smoking service completely useless?

I've tried quitting smoking several times, and the adverts say you're more likely to succeed. They didn't help me one bit, anyone else found this?

  4. Its not the NHS it’s you ,,, Not sufficient willpower and determination . I quit after 65 years , What method did they use ?? Patches I found useless . All Nicotine replacement therapy is . They told me to try Champix, I had had patches previously , This was in January 2007 when the drug first came out , It works by suppressing the brain cells/receptors that make you want to smoke ,, and reduce the pangs ,, You take half dose for a week whilst still smoking, to get used to it .. It does make you feel a bit queasy for half an hour or so ,, but its worth it .. After a week go on full dose and stop smoking .. The clinic monitor you, the CO 2 in your lungs etc , Then if it is helping they prescribe more ( |YOU cannot buy this by the way ,,, prescription only ) It is a 3 month course in all and costs quite a bit .. Which is why they don’t prescribe it all in one go ,,, They want to be sure they are not wasting their money .. I took it for 2 months then felt ready to stop taking it .. They said only if you are really sure .. I did stop and any remaining pangs of wanting to smoke disappeared in the next two or three months , Since January 2007 I have not had a single cigarette, and feel much better for it .. I have damaged my lungs, get out of breath easy, That cannot be cured,,, But can do more and I am still alive ,,, Am nearly 80 now , Ask your people if you can try it too ,,,,, CHAMPIX in UK . Other names elsewhere ,
